"All About Me"
From a very young age I have always had an interest in arts and crafts. Never happier as a child than being outdoors creating pottery from clay found in our garden, or making perfume from rose petals, or glass painting any bottle or vase I could find.
In 2010, whilst on maternity leave with my son, I attended a couple of bead-work jewellery classes and was instantly hooked. I was made redundant in April 2011, however this gave me the opportunity to take jewellery making to the next level and I enrolled on a Silversmithing class at Howden Park Centre in Livingston where I gained the basics in Silversmithing techniques. I have since discovered that I have a true passion for working with metal.
Currently employed as a Scientist, I like to keep up the passion for my creative side by making pieces of silver jewellery. Initially this started out as a hobby but I have had such good response that I thought I would be silly not to take it further.
I predominantly make silver pieces, mixing sheet silver or silver wire with beads including precious stones and swarovski crystals. I do not carry a huge stock and therefore most pieces will be made to order. I can create one-off custom pieces specific to your requirements.
I have 'married' Twinklewood Jewellery with my husband's cake business (Brown Sugar Commissioned Cakes, Livingston www.houseofbrownsugar.co.uk) and now also make cake toppers, wire decorations to go around cake tiers and tiaras.
If you have an idea for a piece of jewellery or cake decoration then let me know about it and I can get busy creating!
